Towards a Smart Connected World

 

The 5th Annual Celtic Event 2010 held from 12 to 13 April 2010 in Valencia, Spain

 

  The Celtic Initiative organised its 5th official Celtic Event on 12th and 13th April 2010 at the Valencia Congress Center in Valencia/ Spain. The Event was targeted to decision makers, managers, and technical experts from telecommunications industry, operators, and academia. Over 200 experts and decision makers attended the sessions.
 

This Event was co-organised with the Spanish Ministry, the EU Commission and the FIA (Future Internet Assembly) and embedded in the IV conference on FP7 in Spain, titled, "FP7 European Innovation and RTD Transforming Sectors Week" from 12 to 16 April 2010.
 

Objectives: Celtic is heading towards a new phase, called Celtic-Plus. For this new phase new challenges for the telecommunications world and the competitiveness of Europe's telecommunications industry and towards a smart connected world will be tackled.

During the event the current status, the future challenges, and the achieved  results and developments of the Celtic projects were discussed. Furthermore, the event provided an excellent opportunity to show the state-of-the art of the telecommunications development towards integrated next-generation telecommunications and multimedia systems, including Future Internet, for seamless use across mobile and fixed networks and to discuss the needs on future research in these areas.

Exhibition: During the whole week from 12 to 16 April a Celtic project exhibition was organised by Celtic project teams demonstrating their achievements, demos or prototypes and discuss their results with interested experts.

   
 

Information and Brokerage Day

 After the Event, on 13 April afternoon, Celtic organised again a special Information and Brokerage Day related to the new Call 8, which has been launched in 2010.
